All About CompSize

Each sizing we do is based on the specific equipment mix of the application. We continuously update our CompSize™ program to reflect the changing water consumptions of virtually every brand and style commercial/industrial washing machine used in the laundry market today as well as car wash, restaurant and brewing equipment.

First, we gather the information below:

  • the type of application
  • equipment mix
  • the usage factor of the facility
  • the percentage of equipment running on "hot", "warm",
    and "cold"
  • the incoming water temperature
  • the desired delivered temperature

Then, based on the Total BTU output calculation, CompSize™ selects from Hamilton Engineering's 150+ water heater and steam boiler models that meet the hot water or steam demand needed.
No more, no less. Storage tanks, pumps, and expansion tanks are selected by the same procedure.

The program will also select alternate heating equipment choices based on efficiency, so you can compare BTU inputs required, and associated prices.

Each model is quoted in list prices. Packages are itemized and a total price is calculated. Options are then listed underneath the total price as add-ons, if you desire.

Common options include:

  • Pre-plumbing
  • "Stack Pack", "Mini Stack"  condensate
    return/feed water systems.
  • Blow Down Separators
  • Expansion Tanks

Pre-Plumbing means we will plumb the system at the factory, and all you would need to do is make two water or steam connections at the site, and connect the color coded unions and flanges.

"Stack-Pack" includes special pre-plumbing and a stand so two heaters can be "stacked" vertically.

"Mini-Stack" includes special pre-plumbing and a stand so one heater can be placed above a storage tank.
